What a cluster Fcuk.
Yes, I was due for renewing my drivers license.
When you enter the building the "Greeter" is tasked with giving you a
"Number" to be called to the counter.
Well, that seemed to slip by the moron at the door.
She indicated I should go to window 22.
I show up there, (After 6 others are helped) and I'm instructed to
sit at the computer and sign in. Done. The computer says, write this number.
so I do. I mover to the waiting area expecting my number to be called.
No joy, the numbers being called are nowhere near my number.
After an hour, I return to window 22, and ask if I made a mistake.
The guy says, did she give you a number when you came?
The answer was , uh, no.
He then gives me a piece of paper with the "Official Number".
I return to the waiting area. After another hour, my number is called.
I am called to window 20, and guess what, the entire "Sign in Process"
needed to be done again. All that time before was wasted.
I pay the extortion, and am instructed to circle the building because the camera
near me is broken. The next step was the "Test".
I go back to window 22, and take the test. Yes, it did seem a bit redundant.
As luck would have it, I actually passed the test even though it asked questions
about penalties for eluding police in a criminal event chase, (Twice).
After returning to window 22, the multi level papers are stapled together
and I have a "Temporary" license, with hard copy promised to arrive in 3 to 5 weeks.
What the actual Fcuk are they doing there?
What say you?

I have had customers who's CA LEGAL name on their id is Rikin No Name Given...........shit you not...........

Like JD, who I think lives in Torrance, I went to the Torrance DMV a few weeks ago to renew my DL. Made an appointment a few weeks before that. The day before said appointment, they sent me text saying "reply to this text 10 minutes before your appointment to let us know you are coming". So 10 minutes out while at a stop light, I reply. A few seconds later I get a reply saying "you are D25".

I walked into the building and spoke to the friendly "greeter" and 3 minutes later, without me saying a word, I hear "we are now serving D25 at window 3". DMV now takes credit cards and I was in and out in 15 minutes, even after waiting 5 minutes to get my picture taken. CA has figured out its DMV shit for regular services unless you are an idiot. Judging by the number of people sitting around waitng for their number to be called, there are a lot of idiots amongst us.

Meah, I went and renewed my driver’s license, registered two snowmobiles, got excused from jury duty, paid my property taxes, signed up for the county golf course advisory committee, gave blood and read a book, all in the same building. Took me 20 minutes.
Oh, parked right in front of the courthouse, fee free as well…

Yes, I live in Torrance. What amused me was the number of morons that were still wearing those little blue "Covid Masks" that do nothing. I may have been in and out quicker, but I was sidelined at the door. After that, it was all down hill. Break protocol, the plan goes to shit quick.

My next appointment is at the sperm bank. I'll be depositing, not
withdrawing.

if you are planning on going to glamis try to leave on a weekday. go to the DMV in palm desert off cook st.
that place is so simple, never that busy. only a couple windows open, just had to go there the other day i totally forgot about the trailer registration. i was in and out no appointment in about 15min.

Sounds familiar, I went a couple days ago to register a new side by side and dirt bike, both are street legal now and I received an apology because I had to wait 5 minutes.

Several years ago me and 3 buddies went to the St. Anthony DMV to plate our RZR's. The DMV is in the Courthouse basement. We were the only customers at the time and we heard the door open and some local looks in and said "Damn, it's packed, I'll come back later!". We all just looked at each other and busted up laughing.

Also, the DMV lady said she needs a vin check but the RZR's are back at camp. She said no problem and she would send the Sheriff to our camp to verify the vins free of charge.

Another reason to love Idaho!

I have done the same in Brawley.

They let me have my neighbor do a facetime of my rzr at home... out is under 15 minutes, even with the facetime.
