Remember When...............

That's an interesting draw through setup.
About a 2" riser with a diagonal plane thru it to 2" suction and 1 3/4" outlet. Funny thing is I still have the whole motor setup. 40 years later. I took it out when I sold the car. The guy who bought it took it back to Massachusetts and did a frame off resto mod to it. 572 with a 5 speed Tremec. It transferred hands during the resto and the new owner finished it about 10 years ago. I sold it about 1985.

Then we will need more pics of it.

Lol. It's in some boxes in my hanger. I put the motor in my sons 72 C10 for while and then took it out and sold the truck. Lol The motor is still running great but I didn't put the turbocharger on the truck. To much HP for a kid to drive it around. Lol. What did you want a pic of?

Back in the 80's, I would break the Lakewood ladder bars and Lakewood would make them heavier every time I broke them until I switched to a 5 link.

When I built this motor it was in my 68 El Camino with a 4 speed. It also had ladder bars after I had a friend work on it and he dumped the clutch and broke the rear end. That thing was like driving on ice with the ladder bars. Just melted the tires. Did the same in my Beaumont.

The El Camino had 3.73 gears and the Beaumont had 4.10's. Then switched to 3.08's. lol Went thru the 1/4 mile at 12.4 at Terminal Island. This was all new. The speed shop was using me as a guinea pig! lol Nobody new what to do with turbos yet. It had an RV cam in it. Revved to about 5000 if I was lucky. Lots of torque. Idled like a stock 350. Used to go street racing and had guys crawling under it and any where they could look for stuff wondering why it was fast. One guy was under it and only saw one big down pipe and starting screaming "this thing has a hair dryer in it!"LOL But it wasn't as fast as most of the street racers. Those guys all had stripped out cars. The Beaumont was stock with all the interior. Heavy car. Ahh the good ole days!
