Let’s see em!

Show your “keep it simple stupid” sand dunes set up. This can be past or current setups you use. In the days of everything being bigger, badder, and better, let’s see some smaller, lightweight, simple camping setups (in the grand scheme of Glamis)

This was when I was running a small 18’ non toyhauler, with two bikes in the bed, towed by my 99 half ton Silverado. We’d run in third gear on the highway and it did great.

been loving the overlander setup

90% of my camping stuff stays in the truck organized in the drawers in the bed (fire pit, bbq, propane, tools, cooking stuff, etc). Bedding stays in the tent even when its closed

Charge some batteries, pack a duffle bag, stop at the grocery store, fuel up, and I'm gone. I lost count how many times I've used it over the last 2 years - I was up to 60 nights

The Overlander setups are cool, but that tent 10 feet in the air and the chineesisum ladder I would have to use....would complicate my trip with a visit to Brawley ER the first night after beers at the campfire going to bed, or worse at 4am when needing piss those said beers.

LMAO

Tents on the ground for me 🧓

Don't forget the fun of your drunk friends taking the ladder after you pass out from said drinking.

I slept in my truck since 2002 until 3 years ago when we got a 5th wheel. My girls slept on the open trailer.
We could get to much better camping with that setup. Still available to me and we talk about doing some of those runs again.

My most simple was lance cab over.Front hitch carried the honda generator and hook up the boat to or a flatbed and roll the buggy on and go.nothing to reallly unload inside and it was already set up.Drop gate roll buggy off toss out a chair or two and set up

Mostly use toyhauler for glamis though and buggy is a tight fit need to load up the truck with everything else set up beds etc.

No pics. but, my last trip, I slept out in the open on a cot and 2" of foam rubber. Before that, in the back seat of my Suburban. Often, the same cot inside a tent.

My new tow rig is gonna be "Aspen." She is a '78 Dodge B300 ambulance formally used by Aspen Valley Hospital. She has 58K box A miles on her. I can stand up in her. We painted her and are fooling w/the wires and a bunch of other stuff.

I looked at several bread trucks....but an ATV won't fit through the back doors. I also refused to run a dually.

My trailer is open air it carries 1 Pioneer 520 and 2 ATVS, or 3 ATVs.

Truck camper and a utility trailer. It is nice having somewhere to go if it rains or if the wind is blowing. The open trailer makes it tough to secure everything from dishonest people when stopping at gas stations. Going to try a different set up this year.
