Uhgggg, last weekend en route to Lake Powell my truck developed a bad noise. Its a knock, or a tick, or a typewriter sound, or something else. I don't know what to call it. It could be injectors, rocker arm, injector pump, cp2, I don't know. Looking for someone local to me, anywhere in the greater Phoenix area, that can help. I can't afford dealership service centers, and the big places are super expensive too. Honestly, I can't throw $20k at it right now. I know there are guys out there doing it on the side that are good, and I don't mind and want to pay them, I just don't know who or where they are. Any good diesel techs you can recommend? Thanks all

strictly diesel is in your city, they make great parts, they may have a tech that does side work

I take mine to Monster Diesel in Gilbert, Mike isn't cheap but he does what he says for the price quoted.

Called a friend in AZ...said Desert Diesel Repair on Bell road is the go to guys... Phone: (623) 205-6489. He has several diesels and an earthmoving company....he uses them when it has to be right....At least they can probably give you an idea.

This may be a long shot, but did you fill up with a different diesel fuel? On my '13 and '17 6.7's I would get that tapping noise when I filled with straight diesel. Bio has lubricity in it and it quiets the injector tapping noise, at least in my case.
But it was never loud, just noticeable.

Matt Hunt in Goodyear. He's a Glamis Duner and owns Hunt's Field Service. Probably do it as a side job. Let him know you're a Duner. Really good guy.

I was concerned that it was a fuel thing, but this is a pretty loud noise. We filled up in Tuba City (I was about 1/2 full) and the noise started just before we got to Kayenta, which is about 70 miles. No idea what kind of fuel I got - didn't even think to think about it, but it was on the Rez, which I did think about after the fact. Could have been bad fuel, but I really have no idea.

I used them on my old 96 7.3 and liked them, just heard they switched owners a while back and weren't as trustworthy? Don't have any first hand experience with that, just a rumor, but maybe I will give them a call. Come to think of it, my buddies kid may have just got a job with them!

Small family business, prices are fair and service is great. call and talk to either Paul, Tommy, or Robert.
They open at 7a - I will call them this morning. Bonus as they are just down the road from my wifes distance cousins taco truck haha
