I am not sure they are related. There is something wrong with the way the secondary works that allows for belt slippage and excessive heat.

It really depends on what is causing the primary clutch to come apart. If it is a design issue then a new primary is coming which I hope results in a new secondary. Kawi wants to get this right and needs to figure it out before they launch the 2 seat version. Whatever they come up with...

I have driven a Pro R with Shock Therapy and one with MTS suspension in the dunes. I felt MTS set up was slightly better. The stock valving with just some springs is not bad.
